If you want answers to questions like…

  • What should I include in my birth plan?
  • How will I know that labour has started?
  • Should I consider upright birthing?
  • Should I bank my baby’s stem cells?
  • What are my pain relief options?
  • How can I be a supportive birth partner?

Our antenatal courses will give you evidence-based information you can use to make safer, healthier choices for your pregnancy, birth, and beyond.

Pregnancy, your way

Led by Cass McNamara – midwife of 27 years, BBC Scotland’s Ask the Midwife, and inventor of the CUB – the course covers everything from recognising labour and understanding pain relief to newborn care, emotional wellbeing, delayed cord clamping, and stem cell banking.

Your options are explained clearly, so you can make informed decisions with clarity and confidence.

Pregnancy and birth are exciting, life-changing moments but they can also feel overwhelming. I wanted to create a course that provides clear information, reassurance, and support, so parents can feel confident, calm, and truly present for their baby.

What you’ll learn

Preparing for Birth: Birth planning, the physical signs of labour, when to contact your maternity team, and understanding your real options – from home birth to hospital, water birth to planned caesarean.

Labour and Birth: The stages of labour, upright birthing, pain relief, optimal cord clamping, and vaginal birth after caesarean (VBAC) – plus how your partner can actively support you through it all.

Feeding and Newborn Care: Breastfeeding, bottle feeding, and mixed feeding. We cover newborn behaviour, safe sleep, cord care, and what to expect in those first seven days at home.

Recovery and Early Parenthood: Postnatal recovery, clinical warning signs to watch for, emotional wellbeing, and the practicalities of adjusting to life as a new family.

What does evidence-led mean?

Every class is built on the latest research and best practices in maternity care.

We explain the why behind each option, set out the benefits and risks honestly, and support you in making informed choices on whichever path you choose. No judgement. No agenda. Just clarity.

Learn the modern way

No travel, no rigid schedules, just accessible, high quality guidance – wherever you are, whenever it suits.

Watch with your partner over a cup of tea. Revisit a class at 3am with a restless newborn. Pause halfway through and pick up where you left off a week later. The format’s built so the learning fits around you.

What makes us different

Real preparation for real life

We prepare you for birth and for the weeks that follow – the emotional adjustment, the realistic expectations, and the practical postnatal planning that gets skipped in most antenatal classes.

No bias, no agenda, just choice

We don’t promote a particular “type” of birth. We give you the full picture of your options and trust you to know what’s right for your family.

Clear, calm, and practical

Written to make sense whether there’s just a few days to go or you’re up at 3am with your newborn.

Inclusive of your birth story

Hospital, home, or birth centre. First baby or fourth. Planning a caesarean, a VBAC, a water birth, or still working it out – the course meets you exactly where you are.
