Your account
To access the antenatal course you create an account on antenatal.cells4life.com. You agree to provide accurate information when registering, to keep your password secure, and not to share your account with anyone else. We may suspend or terminate your account if we believe it is being used in breach of these terms.
About the course and how it should be used
The Antenatal by Cells4Life course is presented online by Cass McNamara, a practising midwife. The stem-cell module is presented by Claudia Rees, CEO of Cells4Life Group LLP. The course has been designed to be up-to-date and factually correct at the time of recording and to represent the current accepted professional standards with regard to general maternity advice.
The course provides general educational information about pregnancy, childbirth and new-baby care. It is not a substitute for individual medical advice. Individual specific advice relating to your own pregnancy or wellbeing cannot be given through the course, and you must take any queries about your own personal health or pregnancy to your community midwife, GP, obstetrician or other appropriate healthcare professional.
The course has been designed as a supplement to the information, advice and general instruction offered by your local NHS Trust. All course material is provided for general information purposes only and should not, under any circumstances, be construed as individual medical advice or instruction.
Course content and licensing
The antenatal course is provided for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not download, copy, redistribute, transmit, sell, or otherwise exploit any course content without our prior written permission. Your access to the course is granted on a non-exclusive, non-transferable basis.
Payment
Where you purchase a paid course or other product, payment is processed by our approved payment provider. We do not store your full payment-card details on our servers. Once your payment has been received we will send you a confirmation email.
Refunds and cancellation
As a general rule, we do not offer refunds or accept cancellations for our online antenatal courses once purchased and access has been provided, or for pregnancy journals sold through Amazon, except in specific circumstances where we are legally obliged to do so under UK consumer law.
The course may be made available free of charge as a promotional offering. Free access is provided at our discretion, may be changed or withdrawn at any time, and no payment is taken for it. This Refunds and Cancellations section applies only to paid purchases.
Online Antenatal Courses
Our online antenatal course is digital content. Once you have been granted access to the course materials, your rights to cancel and to receive a refund are limited.
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you would typically have a 14-day cooling-off period to cancel a contract for digital content. However, that right is lost if you expressly consent to the digital content being supplied before the end of the 14-day period and acknowledge that your right to cancel will be lost once supply begins.
By purchasing access to a paid course and then accessing, watching, streaming, downloading or otherwise engaging with any part of the course material, you give that express consent and acknowledge that your right to cancel is lost. For the avoidance of doubt, supply is treated as having begun the moment you access, watch, stream, download, or otherwise engage with any part of the course material. From that point onwards your statutory 14-day right to cancel under the Regulations does not apply, regardless of how much of the course you have completed.
We are not obliged to provide a refund or compensation if a fault arises from your own actions or inaction, or from issues with your equipment or internet connectivity that are beyond our control.
Statutory Rights for Digital Content
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for a particular purpose made known to us, and as described.
If our online antenatal course is found to be faulty (for example, not of satisfactory quality, not fit for purpose, or not as described), you may be entitled to a repair or a replacement. If a repair or replacement is not possible, or is not provided within a reasonable time or without significant inconvenience, you may then be entitled to a price reduction, which could be up to 100% of the course fee (i.e. a full refund).
If a repair or replacement is not possible, or is not provided within a reasonable time or without significant inconvenience, you may then be entitled to a price reduction, which could be up to 100% of the course fee (i.e., a full refund).
Items sold via Amazon
Some physical items are sold and fulfilled through Amazon. Any requests for cancellations, returns, or refunds for pregnancy journals should, in the first instance, be directed to Amazon and will be subject to Amazon’s own terms and conditions, returns, and refund policies. We encourage you to familiarise yourself with Amazon’s policies at the time of purchase.
Notwithstanding that the sale is conducted via Amazon, under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods (including our physical items) must be of satisfactory quality, fit for any particular purpose made known to us, and as described. If you receive a pregnancy journal that is faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose, you have statutory rights against us as the seller. While you may process your return or claim through Amazon, your rights against us as the seller remain. Please contact us if you encounter any issues with faulty journals that are not satisfactorily resolved by Amazon.
Exercising Your Statutory Rights
To exercise any statutory rights to cancel (where applicable) or to report a faulty product, please contact us in writing by emailing enquiry@cells4life.com.
Discretionary Refunds
Any refunds outside of our legal obligations as set out above are at our sole discretion.
Changes to this Refunds and Cancellations Policy
We reserve the right to amend this Refunds and Cancellations policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on our website and will apply to purchases made after the date of the update. Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights. If you require further information about your statutory rights, you can contact a consumer advice service such as the Citizens Advice Bureau.
Welcome pack requests
If you ask us to send you a welcome pack about Cells4Life’s cord blood, cord tissue or placenta banking services, we will use the contact details you provide to send the pack and to follow up with you about those services. You can opt out of that follow-up at any time.
